Strong start for R&G riders at Oulton Park
The opening round of the 2021 Bennetts British Superbike Championship proved a successful weekend for the many R&G-supported riders and teams in the paddock. In the blue riband class, rookie rider Bjorn Estment took his maiden points, while in the British Supersport class, Gearlink Kawasaki’s Ben Currie climbed the podium with third place in the opening race
A further podium came in the Pirelli National Junior Superstock Championship, with Zac Corderoy taking second place in the second race. It was the British Talent Cup that saw most success, though, with youngster Casey O’Gorman taking both race wins!
2021 R&G Rookies’ Trophy
This weekend also saw the 2021 R&G Rookies’ Trophy get underway. Open to all riders making the step up to compete in their first full season in any Championship class, the Trophy is designed to reward those riders and support the stars of tomorrow.
The top two rookie riders in each class at the end of the season will be out in front of a panel of industry experts, who will choose their overall top three. These three winners will receive a host of prizes from R&G, Pirelli, LS2 Crash Helmets and WD-40, to support them in their next racing steps.
