BSB 2021 reaches the halfway point
Last weekend the Bennetts British Superbike Championship rolled into the iconic Cadwell Park for the first ‘Party in the Park’ since 2019! The legendary Lincolnshire circuit did not disappoint and the tens of thousands of fans trackside were treated to an incredible weekend of racing.
For our R&G supported riders and teams, Cadwell proved a successful hunting ground. In the British Superbike class, Tommy Bridewell made a welcome return to the podium with three third places, strengthening his Showdown position. It was also an impressive weekend for Storm Stacey who was regularly running into the top ten.
In the Quattro Group British Supersport class, Gearlink Kawasaki’s Ben Currie took a third and second place in the two races, closing up on the series lead. Zak Corderoy took a further podium in the Pirelli National Junior Superstock class, while Josh Day continued his impressive form in the Ducati TriOptions Cup, taking a race win in the opening race.
2021 R&G Rookies’ Trophy
After taking his maiden podium in the Pirelli National Junior Superstock Championship, Owen Jenner is our R&G Rookie of the Meeting for Cadwell Park.
Open to all riders making the step up to compete in their first full season in any Championship class, the 2021 R&G Rookies’ Trophy is beginning to heat up. The top two rookie riders in each class at the end of the season will be out in front of a panel of industry experts, who will choose their overall top three. These three winners will receive a host of prizes from R&G, Pirelli, LS2 Crash Helmets and WD-40, to support them in their next racing steps.
