2019 Bennetts British Superbikes – Round 1 – Silverstone

After a long winter, the 2019 Bennetts British Superbike Championship roared into life at Silverstone last week…and what an opening round it turned out to be! With action-packed racing across every class, the 30,000+ fans who packed out the National circuit were treated to edge-of-the-seat racing that sets the season up to be an epic one.  Our Paddock Support unit was also unbelievably busy for the entire weekend, as riders from across the paddock visited us for crash protection and racing essentials.

It was also a great weekend for our R&G-supported riders and teams. In the premier class, Tommy Bridewell and the Moto Rapido Racing squad overcame a huge crash in practice to secure fifth and fourth place in the two races and now sit third overall in the Championship…and top Ducati!

Elsewhere, Aero Knee Slider-wearing Brad Jones took a brace of podiums in the Dickies British Supersport class whilst STAUFF Quick Connect Academy rookies Eemeli Lahti and Storm Stacey took hard-earned top five finishes in the Superstock 1000 and 600 classes.

R&G Rookies Trophy

In our R&G Rookies’ Trophy, we put our top two rookie riders from the weekend to the public vote and you guys voted for Dickies British Junior Supersport Championship leader Adon Davie as your Rookie of the Weekend at Silverstone – well done Adon!

The top two rookies in each Championship class at the end of the season be put forward to a panel of judges, who’ll then pick the top three overall to receive a host of prizes from R&G, Pirelli and LS2 crash helmets. The current top two in each class are as follows;
