COLLIER HOLDS TOP IN R&G ROOKIES’ TROPHY AS HART MOVES SECOND!
Despite the Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup not visiting Cadwell Park, Joe Collier has maintained his lead at the top of the 2017 R&G Rookies’ Trophy as KTM Cup rider Brian Hart moves second, just 19.5 points behind Collier.
Having been a dominant force in the 2017 Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup, Joe Collier has been able to build up a healthy lead in the 2017 R&G Rookies’ Trophy; leading since the halfway point in the season. However, young Brian Hart has closed to within twenty points of the leader, and, with just a handful of rounds remaining, the duo will be pushing over the final races to secure their relative Championship titles as well as the Rookies’ Trophy.
This year the overall winner will receive £500 cash as well as £500 in product support from R&G alongside a set of race tyres from Pirelli and a top-of-the-range LS2 crash helmet; all of which will help towards them progressing their career as they look to take their next racing step in 2018.
R&G UK Sales Manager Alan Garrett added, “We really are now reaching the crunch time of the season and things are hotting up not only in each respective Championship race but also in the R&G Rookies’ Trophy. Joe Collier holds the lead currently, and looks a strong candidate to be able to hold onto that, however KTM rider Brian Hart will be pushing hard to chase him down so it really is all still to play for.”
Each round, Eurosport commentator James Whitham selects one rider to be his Rookie of the Meeting, with the winner receiving a set of R&G Aero Knee Sliders at the following round. After claiming his second victory in the Hel Performance British Motostar Standard class, it was Victor Rodriguez who was nominated as the Cadwell Park rookie.
