2019 Race Teams - Bournemouth Kawasaki
With Bennetts British Superbike Championship testing kicking off this week, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to start our annual run down of the supported teams and riders who will be protecting their machines with R&G…Starting with reigning Champions Quattro Plant JG Speedfit Kawasaki.
It’s all change for the Bournemouth Kawasaki-run squad as they welcome Glenn Irwin, who switches to Kawasaki power after several years with Ducati, and Ben Currie, who steps up from the Dickies British Supersport class to make his debut in the premier class…and becomes a serious contender for the 2019 R&G Rookies’ Trophy! It was a promising start for the duo last year when they got their first shakedown test of the ZX-10R machines, so we’ll be following testing this week with an eager eye to see how they get on.
There’s no doubting the credentials of the Kawasaki in the Superbike class, having won both World Superbike and British Superbike titles in 2018 and we’ll be adorning both Glenn’s and Ben’s bikes with R&G crash protection, whilst both riders will be using our Aero Knee Sliders. The team have also kept our designers busy over the winter break, as we’ve created bespoke titanium radiator guards for them!
We’re not stopping there though, as we’ll also be protecting the Road Racing bikes that James Hillier will be competing on! Now in his 11th season with Bournemouth Kawasaki, James will be using our Aero Crash Protectors, Radiator Guards and Exhaust Hangers - as well as the R&G-distributed SpeedAngle datalogger.
