2018 R&G Rookies’ Trophy – Round 4 – Snetterton
Leon Haslam and the R&G-sponsored JG Speedfit Kawasaki team continued their dominant run in the 2018 Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Snetterton, taking another double win! His fifth win in a row, Leon now leads the Championship by an incredible 64 points!
The R&G trophy haul didn’t end there though, as the Gearlink Kawasaki duo of Ben Currie and James Westmoreland secured second and third place in the opening Dickies British Supersport race whilst in the Junior Supersport class, Eunan McGlinchey took victory in race one. In the Ducati TriOptions Cup races, Rob Guiver once again proved to be in a class of his own to take both race victories to cap off a very successful weekend for our R&G-supported riders and teams.
Rookies Trophy
On the R&G Rookies’ Trophy front, round four saw a number of notable results from riders as they continue to get to grips with their machines. In the BSB class Tarran Mackenzie secured his best result ever with a sixth place in the opening race, however a stunning maiden victory from Joe Collier in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 saw him named our R&G Rookie of the Meeting for Snetterton.
The new look formula for this year means that the top two rookies in each Championship at the end of the season will be put forward to a panel of judges, who’ll then pick the top three overall to receive a host of prizes from R&G, Pirelli and LS2 crash helmets. The current two leading rookie riders in each class after Snetterton is as follows;
